PostSecret is a community art project, created in 2004, by Frank Warren. Essentially, the project revolves around people mailing their anonymous secrets on postcard to Warren, who then goes on to post them on the PostSecret website and in the PostSecret books. No restrictions are put on the content of the secrets and as a result the images and confessions can be shockingly honest. In this day and age, honesty can be refreshing. The art born out of this experiment of sorts is easily relatable, universally human, and unapologetically honest. On the project, Anne C. Fisher writes:
“Why is Post Secret so appealing? It is because Frank has tapped into the universal stuff of being human – the collective, often unconscious level of existence that defies age, culture, gender, economics, and so on.” (Fisher, 2005)
This blog is dedicated to all the beautiful secrets I've collected from the website over the last couple of years.
